Hand-drawn mandalas that breathe and shift colour, and a cursor of its own. Underneath sits a full blog in Czech and English - posts, articles and poems - plus a generator that makes a cover for each new piece in the site's own style.
Built with plain HTML, CSS, JavaScript and a little PHP. No templates, no plugins, no frameworks - nothing to update.
All of them can be edited by whoever owns them. That's the boring part they share - the rest is where it gets interesting. Open one up: each has a story, usually about the one thing it had to do.

Minimal and quiet on purpose: black and white, plenty of air. The one trick is the dates - a run of shows goes in once, lists itself, and each date takes itself down when the night is over.
My own project - I make plant music. The site shares my releases and the events I play at, plus the fun part: every release needed a cover that's clearly PlantBient but never the same twice, so I built a generator for them, and a season picker recolours the whole site.
Built to grow: new paintings, photographs and PDF portfolios go straight up from the admin, sorted into series, in Czech, English and Spanish.
Built for a little oxytocin rather than another hit of dopamine. Nothing to win, nothing to decide - move your cursor and something moves back.open one and let it move under your fingers.
Tap one to open it full screen, with its own controls.
All three are live - push them around right here. Open one and it takes the whole screen, with its own controls.
I'm Anna Bura. I've been building websites for almost a decade, and for a long stretch of that I hand-coded WordPress themes. I liked it, until I didn't: every site needed updating all the time - plugins, patches, something breaking after the last update. So now I build sites that don't need any of that.
Part of the code I write together with AI - it's what lets me run this alone. The ideas, the design and the last check stay with me.
I also teach stage movement at the Prague Conservatory. I like it when things move, when they're a little playful and tell a story - on a stage and on a screen.
